For the first time in history, the 50+ age demographic is growing faster than the under age 15 demographic. Over 50% of the population in the U.S. and Canada and other countries around the world will have citizens over age 50.
Are we prepared?
Not in the slightest.
Change is needed for services, healthcare and amenities for older adults and with it more jobs will be created. There are not enough home care services, access to geriatric physicians, access to health clinics, nurses, social workers, physicians in general and certainly there are not enough hospital beds, affordable long term care facilities or professionals to make home visits for assessment purposes, routine visits for check-ups or needed medical treatment for one who is home bound.

I hope by the time I reach age 65 that all of this has been analyzed, solutions created and the problem will be in the past….
