This has been a rather disturbing day with the Newtown shootings, and apparently something eerily similar happened in China earlier today. Twenty Two children were injured in China by a knife wielding man at an elementary school in Central China. CBS is reporting that none of the children are seriously injured. More disturbing is that attacks on school children in China has become rather frequent.
As we mourn the loss of American life, we should certainly take the time to remember that people around the world share the same life and the same tragedies. Attacks are not the only killers of children, they are just the most immediate and disheartening. Children around the world die of disease and hunger every single day. Honoring the memory of these horrible events should certainly include a universal commitment to meeting the needs of children worldwide.
