The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has published “Tips for Talking With and Helping Children and Youth Cope After a Disaster or Traumatic Event: A Guide For Parents, Caregivers, And Teachers“. The article breaks down the possible reactions you might see as a result of disasters or traumatic events and then discusses tips for talking to these youth. The best part about it is that each section breaks everything down by age, make it very easy to follow for those working with children from infant to teenagers The article wraps up providing further helpful resources, numbers, and hotlines for both youth and caregivers alike. Overall, a very helpful little resource!
