Catholic Health Initiatives Creates a Free Course to Aid Clinicians in Identifying and Responding to Human Trafficking Victims

The course is based on a resource from the Massachusetts General Hospital Human Trafficking Initiative and Massachusetts Medical Society called “Human Trafficking: Guidebook on Identification, Assessment, and Response in the Health Care Setting” and also includes an interactive “Quick Reference Guide” that can be accessed from a mobile device and saved in order to provide clinicians the information in a health care setting.

CHI is committed to violence prevention and has addressed violence in their campaign – United Against Violence, which recognizes that violence must be addressed with a multi-disciplinary approach. CHI believes that health care providers have a special role in identifying and responding to victims of human trafficking, a form of modern day slavery in which violence is present in many ways.
