This reports provides you a comprehensive data profile of transition-age youth (TAY) involved with child protection system in Los Angeles County. There’s also the California version that is available. When youth emancipates from foster care in the United States they experience one if not more of the following things:
- Low educational attainment
- High rates of unemployment and poverty
- Homelessness
- Mental illness
- Incarceration
- Premature death
Findings from the report includes:
- Rates of contact with the child protection system
- Service experiences in this system from first report to exit
- Data on children age 0-15 and 16-20
