Justice

Justice, who does it serve?
The weak, the poor,
The innocent or the guilty?

In the dark hours,
The guilty are lost in thought.

Should passion or prejudice be allowed?
Will it protect or punish?

Will justice elicit the truth
or seek revenge?

The embers of the fire
will either die or crawl
towards the sky,
seeking heights unknown.

Is this when justice is served?
