We live what we know. When we learn more, we can apply that knowledge to our lives through actions. If we actively pursue growth and a full, satisfying life, including honest, frequent self-appraisal, our journey toward more fulfilling lives is not only possible, it is inevitable. Looking within to see how we have contributed to our current circumstances is a necessary part of growth and development. If we will not or cannot self-reflect, and then apply that new understanding, we remain stuck in patterns that often cause us pain and unhappiness. Our life represents our choices. When we make self-aware choices, we realize ultimately we are in control of and responsible for our lives. That can be a bit scary to accept, but it can also ultimately be very freeing.
