<p>Former Florida GOP chairmen is giving the inside dirt on GOP election strategies. He was adamant in saying that the <a href="http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/08/13/michael-tomasky-on-how-the-gop-plans-to-block-the-black-vote.html" title="GOP blocks Black Voters From voting">GOP has operatives in every state that are there to figure out ways to deny Black voters their right to vote</a>. He also cited similar efforts when it comes to the Latino vote. The overall sentiment from the former chairman was that the Republican party is trying to rig elections so as to have them fall into  their favor. </p><br />
<p>This might have woken me from a naive slumber, but I really never thought that voter fraud was a huge issue. Oh, you hear about it happening to a poll or two, but I always attributed that to local racist crazies. This goes far beyond that into the realm actions that can be declared nothing but Anti-American in nature. A systematic attempt at denying a group of voters, any group, the right to vote cuts at the heart of a Democracy. I received this article as assigned reading for a class I am taking in my MSW program. What surprises me is that there is no public outcry on this issue.  And this is from someone who trolls teh internet daily looking for content from you good people. </p><br />
<p>Congress calls a giant investigation because Major League Baseball has steroid issues, and yet there has been no calls for investigation on this issue? Every word of rhetoric expounding the ideals of democracy are reduced to shame if the country allows these practices to continue unabated. The history of the communist witch hunt in the McCarthy era is well known, yet this more significant threat is being ignored. I've said it before and I will say it again, racism in America is alive and well. This is shameful. </p>
