I saw an article title an “Eternal Goodbye To A Good Friend” and it stopped me for multiple reasons. The first is that two people very close to me lost someone very close to them recently, and secondly a dog that shall remain nameless has been having a tough go of it lately, he’s my friend, and its making me very sad. I didn’t even realize that the author was writing about his cat until the end of the article, which makes this even more heart felt IMO. Started me thinking that learning how to deal with grief might be the most important skill a human being can work on. We spend an extraordinary amount of time in life ignoring change, and death, only to be blind sided by the inevitability of it. Anyway, the article made me feel a bit better, and I hope it helps other people out there who are having a tough time. The author’s admission of his feelings, without shame, guilt or attempts to “fix” anything are a great lesson to us all.
