I recently read an article outlining the advantages of complaining. Although it is something we are all prone to at some points, I can’t agree that doing so constantly is beneficial. My tolerance varies on it, I’ve been known on occasion to tell someone “I’m sorry, I have a genetic disorder that makes it impossible to hear whining.” While complaints and whining are not the same, I want to emphasize that most complaints are really about control… Primarily not having it. It was earlier this afternoon when I realized how true it was. Arriving to Disney to pouring rain without hope for clearer skies, I raised a lot of silent complaints of why this weekend chose such poor weather for my one vacation. After about ten minutes of this I realized that although rain will be annoying and not lend itself for good pictures or hair, it was not a big deal. More importantly, that there was nothing I could do about it and there was no way it was going to impede on my time. So on the message of complaints, choose your battles, it goes a lot farther, and never let it ruin your time. Cheers from Disney, stay happy.
