Last week a dozen countries removed Syrian diplomats out of protest of the massive human rights violations Syria has been responsible for. Massacres killing roughly ten thousand have been occurring over the past year. In retaliation for this move, Syria has also expelled all foreign diplomats who have taken this stance, a total of 17 countries. Syria has refused to adopt a cease-fire peace agreement set forth by the UN, a move that will not open up further dialogue between countries. Although both sides are claiming they wish for talks to resume, it is unclear what actions will help that progression.
